It’s very quickly approaching that time at the end of the year when everyone’s talking New Year resolutions and changes for the year ahead. It’s a time when we’re asking ourselves how we can improve and questioning how we can make the new year the best one yet and as a business SERE is no different.
Throughout 2016, we have expanded our existing used car supermarkets, continued to develop our SEAT and SsangYong franchises, as well as becoming Belfast’s newest franchised dealer for the prestigious Mitsubishi brand.
After an already successful year, we’re in a very exciting growth period in which we have opportunities to expand our current sales teams for the year ahead. Our busy sites in Belfast and Lisburn require highly motivated, customer focused individuals with drive and ambition to join our already successful teams.
So why work at SERE?
Let’s get straight down to the nitty gritty, at SERE we got rid of the low rate basic salary (normally around £10,000-12,000) and introduced a basic starting salary of £22,000 for anyone who joins our sales team. After training this basic salary can increase up to £32,000 for exceptional performers but realistically you can have an unlimited earning potential. We believe that offering a starting salary greatly above the national minimum wage attracts a more ambitious, high-calibre of individual and doesn’t put people off who have no sales experience.
On that note and contrary to belief, you don’t actually have to come from a sales or motor trade background to work here at SERE, around 85% of our sales team have had zero sales or automotive experience prior to working here and we actually do the opposite of most car dealerships and encourage applicants to apply with no sales knowledge or industry experience.
But how am I meant to sell a car with no experience? Well, full training is provided when you start, and we provide ongoing sales and product training throughout your career with us. We also actively promote and encourage personal development and each sales executive receives a monthly sales appraisal to help improve performance and this is also an opportunity to discuss improvements and training needed.
Working at SERE will also give you the opportunity to work independently but be part of a supportive team, the variety in your day to day work will be second to none as no two days will ever be the same, but there’s also no doubt you’ll face challenges but that’s what keeps things interesting.
