Stanley Says - Nominees, Awards & WCOTY

The official list of nominees for the 2017 World Car of the Year awards were announced this week and a couple of very familiar entries made the cut including the all-new SEAT Ateca and SsangYong’s ever-popular Tivoli/Tivoli-XLV model.

The annual award ceremony which will be held later next year at the New York International Auto Show features the newest and most exciting cars from across the globe and presents awards across five categories which include:

SsangYong’s Tivoli model has been nominated for the second year running and SEAT’s highly regarded Ateca model is a strong contender after being greatly received by industry experts, critics and the public since its official launch last month.

Countries which feature heavily on the  global WCOTY nominee list include Germany, the USA, Japan and South Korea which all have multiple contenders.  The nominees are to be further shortlisted and the 3 finalists from each category will be revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, before the winners are announced in New York this April.
