Mission Christmas 2024

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and thousands of families around Northern Ireland are struggling. With the cost-of-living crisis continuing to impact households, some families and young people are faced with difficult decisions this winter, making Christmas seem like just another expense. No child should wake up on Christmas morning to no presents under the tree, and no parent or guardian should have to worry about how they’ll make the magic of Christmas happen amidst financial struggles, that’s why Cash for Kids is back again with Mission Christmas, to make sure every child experiences the joy of the season.   

Here at SERE Motors, we believe every child deserves to smile, laugh, and celebrate worry free and are proud to be supporting Mission Christmas again this year. Christmas should be magical for everyone who celebrates, and whilst presents aren’t everything, and the joy of Christmas is felt in so many other ways, we understand how special it is for children to experience that magical moment on Christmas morning. That’s why we want to give back to the community that continues to support us year after year. It’s our way of saying thank you to our community and helping spread the Christmas spirit to those who need it most. Through gift donations and fundraising efforts, we’re committed to helping Santa deliver gifts to children and young people across Northern Ireland who need it most. 

Join Us in Spreading the Cheer 

Both our Belfast and Lisburn showrooms, along with Bodytech Collision Repair Centre in Carrickfergus, will once again host festive donation boxes under our Christmas trees. These collection points are open to the public, and we invite everyone to join us in spreading Christmas cheer by donating gifts. Donations will be accepted until Wednesday 18th of December, at which point we’ll deliver them to Mission Christmas HQ. 

What to Donate? 

Mission Christmas accepts donations for children aged 0 to 18 years, but they’ve shared that they are especially in need of gifts for aged 7-9 and 9-12 girls. To make it easier, we’ve put together some inspiration for your gift shopping: 

0–3 Years 

• Soft toys and sensory play mats 

• Building blocks and stacking toys 

• Musical mobiles and baby books 

• Teething rings and baby bibs 

3–5 Years 

• Colouring books and crayons 

• Dolls and action figures 

• Puzzles and interactive games 

• Small scooters or other outdoor toys 

5–7 Years

Festive Fun for a Great Cause 

As part of our Mission Christmas efforts, SERE Motors will be hosting our annual Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday the 12th of December. This festive event is always a highlight of our season, where our staff (and customers!) don their most outrageous Christmas jumpers to help raise funds for Mission Christmas... The uglier the jumper, the better in our opinion!  

This year, we’ll also be adding some fun games for our staff to enjoy throughout the day, making it a true celebration of the season! We’d love for you to join us - why not pop by, soak up the festive atmosphere, and maybe even take a new car for a test drive while you’re here? 🎄🎁 

Staff Volunteering 

Each year, as part of our commitment to spreading Christmas cheer, members of our team volunteer at the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas sorting warehouse. Acting as "elves for the day," our staff help sort through the generous donations from across Northern Ireland, ensuring every gift finds its way to a child who needs it most. It’s always a bittersweet, rewarding experience, and we’re proud to play a small role in making the holidays brighter for local families. 🎁🎄 

Let’s Make Christmas Magical Together 

As a local, family-run business, we are deeply rooted in our community. The same community that has supported us for over 30 years inspires us to give back in any way we can. Mission Christmas is our way of helping ensure every child in Northern Ireland feels the magic of the season, and no family has to face Christmas morning without hope or joy.  

Gift donations are being collected at SERE Belfast, SERE Lisburn, and Bodytech Carrickfergus, and we urge everyone to contribute if they can. Whether it’s a toy, a treat, or a small monetary donation, every gesture adds up to create something truly magical for local families.
