At SERE Motors Belfast and Lisburn, we’re not just about selling amazing quality new and used cars; we’re about making a difference in our community. That’s why this year, on Sunday 5th May, six teams’ worth of our dedicated staff are hitting the roads on foot for a cause close to our hearts: to support and raise money for Lighthouse Charity.

Belfast City marathon Lighthouse Charity

Lighthouse is a Charity on a mission to prevent suicide and self-harm, promote positive mental health, and provide essential support services to families affected by suicide. Their work resonates deeply with our values at SERE Motors, and we’re proud to partner with them for this meaningful cause.

Our teams are gearing up for the relay race and each member is committed to making a difference in their way. From pounding the pavement to spreading the word, we're all in, and we're inviting you to join us too. Whether you're cheering from the sidelines or want to contribute directly, there are plenty of ways to get involved. You can show your support by donating at our Belfast and Lisburn service desks, or straight to our Just Giving page. Every contribution, big or small, helps us make a difference.

As part of this initiative, we're not only lacing up our running shoes but also spreading awareness about the importance of staying active, eating well, and taking care of our mental health. From workplace visits to educational activations, we're passionate about fostering a culture of wellness in our community.

So, whether you're joining us on the track or cheering us on from the sidelines, we invite you to be part of something special. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by suicide and self-harm, while also prioritising our own health and wellbeing.

Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare for the marathon and thank you for supporting SERE Motors and Lighthouse Charity. Let's run for a cause and make every step count.

Our Commitment

Our teams are training for the relay race, and each member is committed to making a difference in their own way. From taking to the pavement to spreading the word, we’re all in and we’re inviting you to join us too. Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines or want to contribute directly, there are plenty of ways to get involved. You can show your support by donating at our Belfast and Lisburn service desks and participating Sales Executives’ desks or directly to our Just Giving page. Every contribution, big or small, helps us make a difference.

The Benefits of Running for Mental Health

Running, especially as part of a relay team, offers numerous benefits for mental health. It's well-documented that physical activity can have a positive impact on mental wellbeing. Running releases endorphins, often referred to as "feel-good" hormones, which can boost mood and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. Additionally, participating in a relay fosters camaraderie and teamwork, providing social support and a sense of belonging—important factors for maintaining good mental health.

Why We Want to Do It

Beyond the physical benefits, our team is passionate about raising awareness for mental health and supporting those in our lives and community who may be struggling. By participating in this relay race, we're not only challenging ourselves physically but also taking a stand against the stigma surrounding mental health issues. We want to show that it's okay to talk about mental health, seek support, and take proactive steps towards wellness. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by suicide and self-harm, while also prioritising our own health and wellbeing.

Lighthouse Charity: A Beacon of Hope

Since its establishment in 2003, Lighthouse Charity has been a steadfast advocate for suicide prevention, positive mental health promotion, and support for those affected by suicide and self-harm. Their mission is clear: to be at the heart of the community, working tirelessly to prevent suicide and provide hope to those impacted by it. Through accessible support services, educational activities, and collaborative partnerships, they strive to create an emotionally resilient community where positive mental health thrives.

So, whether you're joining us in supporting Lighthouse Charity or cheering us on from the sidelines, we invite you to be part of something special. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by suicide and self-harm, while also prioritising our own health and wellbeing.
